First Class Bookstore's Holiday Customer Appreciation Day
Green Christmas: Heart-felt Ideas for Eco-friendly Gift Giving
The First Class Bookstore held their Holiday Customer Appreciation Day on Thursday December 3rd in the Bookstore. It is an extremely popular annual event, and the Bookstore was bustling with Algonquin Staff and students before 10:00 a.m. right through to 3:00 p.m.
The Bookstore staff served flavoured hot chocolate from “Gourmet du Villages”, and presented some delicious food tastings. These included samples of both cinnamon and vanilla flavoured sugar butter on toast, which tasted like comfort food with the hot chocolate.
There were tastings of savoury compotes and jams from “Wildly Delicious”, which included Four Red Fruits, and Strawberry Madagascar Vanilla Bean. Tapenades were also served which included Kalamata Olive & Fig, Green Olive with Almond, and Fig & Pear with Orange. Mmmmmmm. Yummy !!
A variety of herbed cheeses, cream cheese blended with herb mixes from “Gourmet du Villages,” were very popular as well. And for dessert, chocolate samples of two new chocolate products rounded out the tasting menu.
Don’t forget that all of these products are available for purchase at the Bookstore, including the very popular Garlic & Rosemary Roasted Potato Seasonings & “Gourmet du Villages” Wine Country Savoury Cheeseball Seasonings, perfect for Holiday giving and stocking stuffers and hostess gifts.
As part of the Customer Appreciation Day, there was an “author signing for the Algonquin Reads book “Anthem of a Reluctant Prophet by Joanne Proulx. Joanne was there personalizing copies for the perfect Christmas or Holiday gift. There are still copies of the book available at a special 30% discount.
Myles Riley of the Finance Department won the fabulous door prize of a beautiful white, cozy electric fireplace. Vicki Smart of the Registrar’s Office won the $100 Bookstore Gift Card.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all !
