In his article: "Is Google Making Us Stupid", Nicholas Carr reflects on how the internet may be changing how we form thoughts and acquire knowledge.
For Carr, the most dramatic change has been in his reading. He laments about how his internet reading has caused him to lose concentration after 2 to 3 pages.
Are we becoming, as Richard Foreman suggests in the article: "'pancake people' spread wide and thin" of knowledge considered vital to our cultural inheritance?
