Applied Research: The Ultimate Problem-based Learning Experience

Whether you are looking for the best place to buy tires or helping a client solve a problem, you are more than likely engaging in some type of research. This hands-on workshop will introduce you to an "outcomes driven" process for planning applied research projects. The problem-based approach that will be shared can be used in all areas of life. The workshop is designed to: 1) enable you to improve your problem-solving skills and give you new tools to share with your students and 2) assist you in integrating applied research into your learners’ educational experiences. We will explore a number of ways in which students can get involved in applied research and how to engage external clients. Students who have participated in applied research will share their experiences.
