Algonquin College Introduction For consistency and reliability, a common methodology is used by all Community Colleges to compile the data and calculate the results. The data is effective as of April, 2006, and will be updated annually. The three indicators are: Ontario Student Loan (OSL) Default Rate Graduate Employment Rate The percentage of graduates from postsecondary programs who are in the labour force, and who are working during a standard reference week, six months after graduation. Graduation Rate The percentage of students who graduated from a program within twice the normal program duration. The extended period for graduation accommodates those students who take periodic absences for employment, complete their program on a part-time basis or have to repeat courses, thereby delaying their date of graduation. Availability of Indicators For some programs, data for one or more indicators may not be available. For example, OSL Loan Default rates are provided to Algonquin College as a combined value for a number of related programs. For some programs, most notably short duration, adult training programs, Graduate Employment data were not collected as part of the KPI data collection cycle.
