Practical Strategies for assisting culturally diverse students

Current research into culture and college learning will be introduced Barriers as perceived by Algonquin students who participated in focus groups will be presented. Participants will have the opportunity for discussion of their experiences working with culturally diverse students. Strategies for overcoming barriers to college success will be explored and opportunities for role playing will be provided.
