"I Spy" a Grandmother, an Aunt or a Mom (or even a Dad) … in a Quilt

Beth Cameron,Client Service Representative, Registrar's Office

Come to this workshop to learn to make an easy "I Spy" block type of quilt using 3.5" squares.  Each block will be a different novelty fabric with a "picture" (animal, vegetable or other object) on it.  At this workshop you will be inspired by a finished I Spy quilt, learn where and how to buy the fabric, and be shown how to prepare the fabric and accurately cut the blocks.

Following the workshop, those who are interested can purchase 'novelty fabrics' and cut them into the required 3.5" squares.  We will follow up in the fall when we will meet again at one or two ‘lunch and learn’ sessions to trade squares with each other and learn to assemble and complete the quilt.  By pooling our novelty fabrics, we will be able to save on our costs and get a wider variety of fabrics.  This workshop will enable you to do something Quilter's generally do extremely well-- share and pool resources.
