Working with Generation Y
John Oughton, Curriculum and Professional Development Facilitator, Centennial College
John Oughton summarizes research on the Millennials or Generation "Y" (those born since about 1983) that helps answer common questions older people have such as: why do they multitask so much? In what ways do they learn and work differently? What should colleges do to accommodate and integrate this generation, both as students and as faculty or staff colleagues? In this workshop you will explore a number of issues, including comparisons with older generations, cultural changes, technological practices, slang and learning styles, and includes interactive exercises to help you devise your own strategies.
